kumara gratin

cloves garlic
• 2 large kumara, peeled &
thinly sliced
• 2 shallots, peeled &
thinly sliced
• 1 dessertspoon water
• 200ml milk
• 3 tblspns crème fraiche
• salt & pepper
• 1 tblspn whole coriander
seeds
Peel one of the garlic cloves and cut in half.
Rub a baking dish with the cut side of the garlic. Add two
layers of kumara, layer the shallots on top and finish with
the remainder of the kumara slices. Add the water, cover with
gladwrap and microwave on high power for 7 minutes or until
vegetables are tender.
Crush the remaining garlic and combine with the milk, crème
fraiche, salt and pepper. Mix well. Pour over the kumara and
sprinkle the coriander seeds on top. Bake in a 180Ί oven for
15 minutes or until golden.
Let stand a few minutes before slicing.
