salt & pepper
25g butter
150ml milk
350g self raising flour
5ml baking powder
Roughly chop half the kumara and boil in salted water until
tender. Drain and mash with the butter.
Grate the remaining kumara and mix with the milk. Beat in the
mashed kumara & season with salt & pepper to taste.
Sift the flour and baking powder into the kumara mixture and
beat together to form a dough. If the dough is too sticky, add
a little extra flour.
Turn out onto a floured surface and kneed lightly then half
the mixture into two and shape into round breads. Put on a greased
baking sheet and bake at 200C for about 30 minutes or until
well risen and golden brown. |
